“高考”翻譯成“Gaokao”正確嗎？

眾所周知，每年外媒都會對中國的高考進行相關(guān)報道，高考的英文名“Gaokao”也已經(jīng)被收錄進牛津字典中，這是一個十分具有中國特色的表達。

但是，你還需要知道“高考”的官方英文翻譯，那就是National College Entrance Examination，簡稱為NCEE。

值得一提的是，這里的be可以與get互換使用。

I was admitted to Harvard University。

我被哈佛大學錄取了。

She admitted that she had been admitted into the university by chance.

她承認她被那所大學錄取純屬偶然。

② be enrolled by 

關(guān)于enroll，這個詞大家也不陌生。作為動詞，它最常用的意思就是“登記；把...計入名冊”，當然它也有“予以錄取”的意思。

I wish that I could be enrolled by a famous university.

我希望我可以是進入一所著名的大學。

The good news that her son had been enrolled by Tsinghua University cheered the sad woman up.

兒子已被清華大學錄取的好消息使這位悲傷的婦女大為振奮。

③ be accepted by 

He told me that he had been accepted by a prestigious university。

他告訴我他已經(jīng)被一所名校錄取了。

④ receive the admission notice/the letter of admission

這里的the admission notice和the letter of admission都是指“錄取通知書”。千萬注意admission一詞，名詞，表示“錄?。ㄈ雽W）”

My mind was set at ease at last after receiving the admission notice。

收到錄取通知書后，我的心才放下了。

She sent the good news to her family as soon as she got her letter of admission。
