Duration: May. 8th. 2021 —— June. 7th. 2021 Opening: May. 8th. 2021 4:00pm Location: Cheng Center for Contemporary Art, 798 Art Zone, Beijing 策展人語（馮博一） Curator s Words：這是藝術(shù)家姚志燕在北京的首次個展，呈現(xiàn)了他2018-2021年最新的創(chuàng)作履跡。20幅油畫和32幅水彩、素描，針對于現(xiàn)代化城市中“陌生人”的概念，視覺形象既幽默，又荒誕，且黑色。This is the first solo exhibition of artist Yao Zhiyan in Beijing. It presents his latest creative track from 2018 to 2021. Twenty oil paintings and thirty-two watercolors and sketches are aimed at the concept of Strangers in modern cities. The visual image is humorous, absurd, and black.布面油彩 Oil on canvas 80X100cm 2018Marvel Not, My Brethren, If The World Hate You布面油彩 Oil on canvas 150X200cm 2020姚志燕筆下的“陌生人”，不僅是某個來自外來或潛在的讓人感到疑惑的“異鄉(xiāng)客”，更多地是指我們?nèi)粘Ｉ?，尤其是在網(wǎng)絡(luò)空間中，我們和匿名的陌生人在一起的共同境遇，抑或使自我，包括我們，都迷失在陌生人的群體里。The Strangers in Yao Zhiyan s works is not only a Stranger who makes people feel confused from outside or potential, but also refers to our daily life. Especially in cyberspace, common circumstances that we stay together with anonymous strangers, which may make myself, including us, lost in the group of strangers.布面油彩 Oil on canvas 200X200cm 2021布面油彩 Oil on canvas 80X100cm 2018布面油彩 Oil on canvas 150X200cm 2021因此，姚志燕的作品都是圍繞人與自我、人與人之間幽微的陌生關(guān)系，其想象力充滿著混雜、孤寂和曖昧的情結(jié)，塑造和建立了一個自我封閉又無限延伸的世界，并在不確定的變幻中捕捉和固定那一個個片斷的瞬間。而他鐘情于空白、半透明和鏡像的反射，其實是化解了由神秘造成的尷尬與壓抑，如同被黑暗及光明所吸引的蕓蕓眾生。當人們面對自身和他人難以克服的困惑時，對人性脆弱、無力的表現(xiàn)，才能使理解、寬容得以發(fā)生。Therefore, Yao Zhiyan’s works revolve around faint strange relationships between man and himself, man and man. His imagination is full of mixed, lonely and ambiguous complexes, shaping and establishing a self enclosed and infinitely extending world, trying to capture and fix those moments in uncertain changes. His passion for blankness, translucency, and mirrored reflections, which actually resolves the embarrassment and depression caused by the mystery, just like all mortal beings are attracted by darkness and light. When people face the insurmountable puzzles of themselves and others, only the performance of fragility and powerlessness in human nature can make understanding and tolerance happen.姚志燕出生于武漢，1992年定居深圳。早年開始探索不同的藝術(shù)媒介的可能性，并與藝術(shù)家、美術(shù)館及不同機構(gòu)進行合作。一直在中國大陸、中國港澳和美國的機構(gòu)捐贈繪畫作品。作品多次受邀參加中國大陸及港澳、德國的展覽。 Yao Zhiyan was born in Wuhan and settled in Shenzhen in 1992. In his early years, he began to explore the possibilities of different art media, and cooperated with artists, art galleries and different institutions. He has been donating paintings to institutions in China and the United States. His works have been invited to participate in exhibitions in China and Germany. 2006年至今，先后接受中國、美國、加拿大等藝術(shù)機構(gòu)及媒體的采訪和專題報道；2010年，當選為中國深圳人物志地圖成員；2011年，被選為澳大利亞中國藝術(shù)家計劃的藝術(shù)家成員。作品被中國、澳大利亞、德國、美國、法國等國家的私人、美術(shù)館等機構(gòu)收藏。 Since 2006, he has successively received interviews and special reports from China, the United States, Canada and other art institutions and media. In 2010, he was elected as a member of Shenzhen People s Chronicle Map of China. In 2011, he was selected as an artist member of Australian Chinese Artists Program.
