讀到一個句子

To regret one’s errors to the point of not repeating them is true repentance. There is

nothing noble in being superior to some other man. The true nobility is in

being superior to your previous self.

句中有兩處用了in being …… 結構：

1）in being superior to some other man 和 2）in being superior to your previous 

self。

這里 being superior to some other man 和being superior to your previous self 是動

名詞短語作介詞 in 的賓語。

通常動名詞短語是doing sth. (動賓結構)，如是系表結構，則用 “being + 表語”。

“being + 表語”置于介詞 in之后，大多表示“在……方面”。
