1 eat like a pig 狼吞虎咽,吃的多而且吃相不好  （party話題）

2  drink like a fish  豪飲；一大口一大口地喝酒

You are kidding. You usually drink like a fish. 別開玩笑，你平時酒量很大的。

My father used to drink like a fish, but now he drinks very little to keep healthy. 我爸爸以前經(jīng)常喝酒，但現(xiàn)在他為了健康，很少喝酒了

3 work like a dog  像狗一樣工作；拼命工作  （work話題）

Everyday they work like a dog. 他們每天像狗一樣工作著。

They say that to be successful, a person has to work like a dog. 他們說，一個人想要成功就得拼命工作。

You may work hard like a dog, air filled with ambition, but just struggling to survive in theedge, of no fixed abode, three meals a day rush about, do not see hope and dream. 你或許像狗一樣地努力工作，空有滿腔抱負和理想，但卻僅僅掙扎在生存的邊緣，居無定所，為一日三餐奔波，看不到希望和夢想。

4 fight like cat and dog 爭斗激烈的

It is a claim calculated to have rival pet lovers fighting like cat and dog. 據(jù)調(diào)查數(shù)據(jù)表示，就像貓和狗是冤家一樣，貓狗寵物的主人也是競爭對手。

They always fight like cat and dog though they still love each other very much. 

盡管他們彼此深愛著對方，但經(jīng)常激烈地爭吵。

My parents used to fight like cat and dog yet paradoxically they still loved each other. 

我父母親過去一直吵得你死我活，然而反常的是他們仍然彼此愛著。

5 smoke like a chimney 煙癮大 

You smoke like a chimney. 你煙癮真大。

John once smoked like a chimney, but he doesn't smoke now. 約翰曾吸煙吸得很兇，但現(xiàn)在戒了。

6 like watching paint dry 比喻某事太過單調(diào)無味 （lecture話題，teacher話題）

It's like watching paint dry. 這也太單調(diào)無聊了吧

Listening to a biology lecture is like watching paint dry. 聽生物學講座十分讓人討厭。
