動詞不定式是一種非謂語動詞，其結(jié)構(gòu)為“（to）+動詞原形”。

（5）不定式作定語

to不定式可用作名詞修飾語，作定語置于被修飾名詞后面。比如：

I have an important meeting to attend.

我有個重要會議需要參加。

She has a story book to read.

她有個故事書需要讀。

I’d like to have a few books to read during the trip.

我想有幾本書在旅途中閱讀。

Could you give us something to eat? We are very hungry.

給我們點(diǎn)東西吃好嗎?我們很餓。

不定式常用于修飾表示序列意義的詞。比如：

Dick is always the first to get to his office.

迪克總是第一個到辦公室。

He was the last to swim to the shore.

他是最后一個游到岸邊的。

Captain Ed Mitchell was the sixth man to walk on the moon.

愛德·米切兒上尉是在月球上行走的第六個人。
