一、doubt 用作名詞，意為“疑問(wèn)；疑惑”。without doubt = there is no doubt that ...毫無(wú)疑問(wèn)；in doubt 疑惑，拿不定主意。如：
?There is no doubt about it.  此事無(wú)可懷疑。
?I have no doubt of his ability.  對(duì)于他的能力我毫不懷疑。
?We are in doubt(about) what to donext. 我們不知道下一步要做什么。
When in doubt about the meaningof a word, consult the dictionary. 當(dāng)你對(duì)一個(gè)詞的意義沒(méi)有把握時(shí)，就查一下詞典。
?二、doubt用作動(dòng)詞，意為“懷疑”。
?1、用在肯定句中，后接whether或if引導(dǎo)的從句。如：
?I doubt whether they can swim across the river.  我懷疑他們能否游過(guò)河去。
?He doubts if she will keep her word.  他不敢肯定她是否會(huì)遵守諾言。
?We doubt that they can complete the work ahead of time.  我們不相信他們能提前完成這項(xiàng)工作。
?I doubt that he will come.  我看他未必會(huì)來(lái)。
?2、用在否定句和疑問(wèn)句中，后接that從句。如：
?I don't doubt that he can finish the task on time.  我相信他能按時(shí)完成任務(wù)。
?Do you doubt that she will succeed?  你懷疑她會(huì)成功嗎？
