We all dream of having a vacation at times. People need to get away,
and Edinburgh is a fun place for everyone. Edinburgh is an old city in
southeast Scotland. It is built on seven hills and the most famous is
Castle Rock. It has been named as one of the most beautiful cities in
the world and is known as one of the most suitable places in the world
to live.
One of the reasons Edinburgh is so much fun is
because of its exciting events. There are many things to see and take part in throughout the year. August is a particularly interesting month. Each year, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe invites countless people from all walks of life into the world of arts. It is the largest art festival in the world and focuses on the performing arts. This mostly means theater and comedy, but dance and music are widely seen as well. The Edinburgh Festival Fringe is open to everyone, so you never know what you will experience each year. The festival lasts nearly the whole month, so you will have a lot of time to explore.

藝穗節(jié)由來
藝穗節(jié)源起於1947年英國(guó)愛丁堡藝術(shù)節(jié)期間，當(dāng)時(shí)有八個(gè)藝術(shù)團(tuán)體未獲主辦單位的邀請(qǐng)，於是他們便決定自行籌制演出，與藝術(shù)節(jié)的表演分庭抗禮。他們以藝穗Fringe自居，結(jié)果大受歡迎，發(fā)展至今六十多年來，F(xiàn)ringe已成為全世界最大、最受歡迎的藝術(shù)節(jié)活動(dòng)。藝穗節(jié)的精神，就是以開放自由的理念，接納演出的團(tuán)隊(duì)。意指參加的表演者均未經(jīng)評(píng)審或挑選，即可加入年輕藝術(shù)家出人頭地的全新場(chǎng)域。
